Favorite Bible Verses:

These are some of my favorite words to live by.  They all come from the Bible, so you know they are true and beyond contention.  I hope I don't burn in Hell for doing this list.  Just remember, as the Bible says, we all fall short of the glory of God.

  1. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.  For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.  Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their hubands in everything.  Ephesians 5:22-24  (Modern times are highly over-rated.)
  2. Beauty in a woman without good judgment is like a gold ring in a pig's snout. Proberbs 11:22  (Don't take any chances with beautiful women.  Go after the ugly ones.)
  3. It is better to meet a mother bear robbed of her cubs than to meet some fool busy with a stupid project.  Proverbs 17:12  (If people knew how much time I spend on this website, you would all be looking for mother bears.)
  4. Better to live on a corner of the roof than share the house with a quarrelsome wife. Proverbs 21:9  (If I start seeing guys up on their roof, I'll know people are reading this page.)
  5. Better to live out in the desert than with a nagging, complaining wife.  Proverbs 21:19  (Don't forget to bring enough water.)
  6. Children just naturally do silly careless things, but a good spanking will teach them how to behave.  Proverbs 22:15  (The people who work for Child Services need to read this verse and relax a little.)
  7. If you answer a silly question, you are just as silly as the person who asked it.  Proverbs 26:4  (Does anybody understand this one?)
  8. Even if you beat a fool half to death, you still can't beat his foolishness out of him.  Proverbs 27:22  (I've got the bruises to prove it!)
  9. A leech has two daughters, and both are named, "Give me!"  Proverbs 30:15  (I don't know what to write.  This verse just sounds funny.)
  10. A fool quoting a wise saying reminds you of a drunk man trying to pick a thorn out of his hand.  Proverbs 26:9  (Having just quoted ten wise sayings, I couldn't find a more appropriate verse to finish this list.)
